ISLAND LEGACY HAWAII’S HISTORY

Michael Parker was raised in farming in Oregon, served three years in the US Army until 1962 … So, what’s next?

A year of travel cross country filled with great experiences such as mining for molybdenum in Colorado, teaching scuba diving in Miami, Florida, selling ladies’ uniforms in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and ended with an offer to enter the jewelry industry.

Thirteen years of discovery ended with a diploma from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) as a Diamond Grader and an urge to operate a fine jewelry store based on client protection.

OUR RETIREMENT
IS YOUR GAIN

Today, my wife Joanne and I look back on a total of 101 years of service to our clients (44 years for Joanne and 57 for myself).  It’s time to RETIRE!!!

We will be offering our accumulated treasures exclusively on this site. Be sure to come back often, as we will be adding one of a kind treasures weekly.

ISLAND LEGACY HAWAII

We have been members of the Hawaii Jewelers Association since 1974.  I served as president for six years and was elected as a director of Jewelers of America in New York for a three year term.

In 1999 our US Patent was granted for the invention of the 100 Facet New Century Diamond cut.  Our best contribution to client protection was the policy of every diamond over ¼ carat is sold with an independent gemological grading and evaluation report. The most important person in our store was always our client.
